Manor Life

Other less fortunate nobles lived on manor's. Manors are large agricultural estates. The nobles on the manors are referred as lord's or vassal's. On the manor the workers were known as serfs. Serfs are basically slaves, but treated better. Serf's worked on manors, because they needed land. In order to work on a manor a serf had to pay a tithe. A tithe is a tenth of the serf's profit, in which a serf has to pay to the vassal.

Medieval Fashion

Us nobles have elegant styles, with colorful schemes. Only us
wealthy can afford extravagant clothing. And those filthy peasants couldn't even wear clothing thanks to laws that prevent it. We've had our share of different fashions, I mean every time we get a new king or queen it changes. I was so relieved during the Crusades when we got fine materials like silk and velvet. It was finer than what that we could buy, but so could peasants *gag*. Anyway we nobles do love our fashion it brings a sense of individuality to these low times.

Medieval Castles

As a noblewoman My husband has a castle. Thy castle is quite elegant and it is similar to the Conway castle at the right. Our castle has a keep where us nobles reside. In the keep there are living quarters at the top, then storage areas, and halls at the bottom. Our hall is where all the town activities occur and we have muscians and our very own jester. Our castle has a variety of defensive accesories, like a drawbridge, killing grounds, and spiral staicases. Our castle is grand and holds many people and I love thy castle so.
